We should spend less time, money and energy getting to space until we know the oceans. We don't know anything about the oceans yet, what are we doing? There are fish with lightbulbs on their heads and demon teeth and you are worried about mars? What's up with that? 

 Ocean exploration doesn't sound sexy enough. And the powers that be, don't want us to find Atlantis yet.
