Privacy is in our DNA. Not only do we not want to know how you're using your money, but we're building things in a way that we can't. Not all wallets can say the same. https://docs.zeusln.app/for-users/embedded-node/privacy/ https://image.nostr.build/f64dc54df5b570a52fb2abebe90971ce24fbadb21de5b8711585194d37f85bf3.png
@ZEUS for the win.
To be fair, Zeus is not a complete wallet. It's a wallet UI to control a wallet you already have somewhere else.
Incorrect. This is an analysis of our new release that has an embedded node and wallet. It’s in open beta. Anyone can try it today. General release in December.
I started Zeus on my phone to make sure I wasn't wrong. How do I join the beta on Android? Opt in to beta testing? I don't see that option on that app.
The APK is on our website and GitHub
Are you familiar with PlayStore beta testing? You could control how many people test new versions there and make it easy for everyone to try it out from the PlayStore.
We’re trying to be less reliant on app stores, not more.
Well, it's a tool that allows you to get crash reports, feedback that doesn't affect your play store rating and the user clearly knows he's running a Zeus-signed apk without having to figure out how to verify that on his own. I would use it while also offering the APK for those who chose to de-google their phones.
I'm glad i saw this thread, i don't have a node (yet) and was about to download Zeus to try it out. But i guess i'll wait a month 👍🏻
This is outdated information 🤙
It was not outdated 20s ago when I tried it out with Zeus on Android. I see it's in the process of getting outdated but that's slightly a different thing. I'll hold off to herding followers into Zeus as long as they themselves consider it not ready.
That is a sensible approach.
Love it.
TIL: BlueWallet has LDK as a hidden feature, too. How does BlueWallet stack up in your chart with that feature? Can you share more details about the trackers and what you test there. Some frameworks allow a lot of tracking but are used for crash reporting, only for example. I highly dislike frameworks that track user interaction or "what happened before the crash" but understand that some teams use them to provide fixes for issues they wouldn't know about without.
I'm curious about this as well, I use both blue wallet and Zeus to compare the two regularly. I disagree with your prior statement regarding Zeus controlling a wallet elsewhere as you can create a dedicated wallet in the mobile app that uses your node as the backend but creates a dedicated wallet separate from any other sats on said node. I've found Zeus to be much faster at accepting Tor channels on Cold start to receive and send payments whereas BlueWallet has a much longer spool up time with many more vague unknown errors like "failed to connect to server" which I find may mean a wide variety of different potential issues at play with no help pinpointing. Similar errors on Zeus are much more specific by comparison.
