I had quit all social media due to the amount of intrusion and mental noise they created. The previous day was checking out the site of Nostr and joined Freefrom. The interface is quite minimal. The whole signing up process is so seamless and doesn't ask for the email verification nonsense

True that. Good old days. Going to cyber cafes and creating Orkut profile and chatting with high school friends. I passed high school around that time and was prepping to step into the graduation college. Back in the days the internet used to be comparatively less chaotic compared to the current times.

I was not a regular user of Orkut though my profile was there until it was decommissioned. I remember starting to use Facebook as my friends back in the days have joined it and been coaxing me to send friend request on FB.
