BREAKING: Bitcoin mining centralization.
OCEAN reaches 56% of unique miners receiving newly generated coins.
Our latest block paid out 50 unique Bitcoin addresses from the coinbase, meaning 50 people received bitcoins directly from Bitcoin itself, not from a middle man.
Over the past six months, 174 addresses have received bitcoin payouts direct from the blockchain.
97 of these were miners mining on OCEAN.
This is the way. Join the revolution. https://image.nostr.build/ https://image.nostr.build/c919eca2d1cd48daedc45c985ab7d61c33fe371d2dd97f7bc7275fb03ac3db15.png d92872452c388990787660e1ff890c9e30df6e615506d020fd83df189819e93e.png
Ocean runs knots still?
Ocean runs more than one template and it’s up to miners to chose
How does it work for the other miners/addresses? Are you keeping their share of sats in custody until they reach the minimum payout? If this is the case one of the adresses from the coinbase transaction would be your custody address from which you would later pay out, right?
I’m a miner with that and that’s how it works
One address is ours for those who didn't hit the threshold yet.
There are multiple reasons for this.
I’m sure there would be a lot more. I’m seeing a lot of people on social media struggling with the payout method. Maybe a video tutorial would help. My 2 Sats
Lightning is complex. On chain is easier than any other pool frankly as no account creation is required.
Agreed. Is there a way of doing an onchain payout that’s below the threshold ?
There's a lower threshold of 65,536 sats for inactive addresses.
Hi, what defines an inactive address? Stopped mining for a period? Like what yiu guys are doing!
Tried today an got an message „error decode Lightning_bolt12“! Any Info on that?
You DMd me on my personal acc (mechanic) - check the response there.
Set up yer zap wallet and kick ass!
This is not a great decentralization success story.
What we actually have is a pool mainly used by a small number of relatively large hashers. A real decentralization success story would be if the number of individual hashers was so large, coinbase payouts were completely impractical, and almost everyone was getting paid by Lightning.

Anyone with bitaxes and lightning set up you can identify?
Great to see!

Can you please tell the exact string to put into a BitAxe? I know they are long shots but who cares? I have been asking and searching for this answer but want to know from someone who understands Ocean and BitAxe.
Thanks in advance hopefully.
When Bitaxe setup?
You can already use bitaxes, though they won't get paid out in the coinbase for decades. You'd need to set up Lightning.
I’m looking for that lottery ticket with solo mining. So complete solo no pool payout but still using ocean.
Use public-pool.io
Been using https://solo.ckpool.org/
That has a dev fee.
Can't connect to the the pool using.... stratum+tcp://public-pool.io:21496
htttps://web.public-pool.io
Go there to check setup config.
