Okay, so try coinos.io for a custodial wallet. It's a website, but you can install it as an app so it's on your home screen all the time. You can use that address with Nostr to at least receive zaps. You're avoiding the app store crap that way. Spend a minute looking at Robosats, also. That's a good way to buy some sats without KYC. If you can get cashapp, you can use it there.
