Once I have the hard landscaping done and no longer have to dodge around builders’ bags, I’m planning a half-barrel pond. There are big ponds in the field behind my house, but I’d like some water in the garden.
I want to make a little barrel pond someday, too. One I could put on the porch. I don't know what I would keep in it, probably end up being a giant cat water bowl.
There are some lovely varieties of tiny water lilies, which I’d like to try, and watercress is supposedly very easy and a nice tasty salad crop.

(The question of how I would keep my hypothetical future ducks out of it is an interesting one.)

Ta, added then to my plant list.
