Just harvested 40lbs of sweet winter kale from the tunnel on this cold, rainy spring day in Maine. It’s lush and green inside though, and already packed with food.

We have decided to step away from commercial growing this season and instead intend to #donate 100% of our vegetable production over the entire course of the year.

#BitcoinOnly from here.

It’s nearly three months into the year and we have yet to earn a single dollar— Still trading honey and maple syrup for @SweetSats and trying to fully embrace the idea of value for value in all aspects of the farm enterprises. We will be letting go of a nearly 6-figure USD business that we’ve built over the past four years in order to rebuild from the ground-up on a #BitcoinStandard as 100% community supported agriculture.

Will it succeed? Idk, but the capitalist model of growing and selling food for profit has left us frustrated. If we aren’t brave enough to try new models and actually give them a chance, how can we know what’s possible? #CircularEconomy

If we can continue to pay our bills and production remains financially sustainable over this season, then we’ll do it again next year. 🤝 https://image.nostr.build/503862476ad2a6e0fb85cc2aa95a1bf9d1c90dd9774c58c8761bbf21543c9192.jpg https://image.nostr.build/3b328c90a94659c44786bfba5a8b47b20fdc0d806b162ddfa704125f4aa3d610.jpg
