Just a reminder that Section 230 preserves the right of private platforms (at least in the U.S.) to moderate content (or not moderate it) as they see fit. This is necessary for a free speech Internet - at least until Nostr obsoletes the need for this government permission.

I'd agree that a business should be able to set the terms of doing business, and shouting obscenities is a good reason to show someone the door, but we don't have a business relationship with these platforms that are censoring us. Its the equivalent of a public square. If you're not paying YouTube/FB/etc and they aren't paying you, and the only exchange of value any where to be found is them monetizing your attention and data, without you getting any of it - that's not a business relationship. All you are doing is talking, mostly to strangers. Its the public square. Its the only public square. People generally don't hang out on the street and have conversations with strangers. If speech isn't protected by the first amendment online, then basically there is no first amendment. That said... Can't wait for that evil bitch to retire.
All I can say is I disagree with your premise in general. If you owned property that you allowed anyone to use for free, that doesn't make your property subject to the First Amendment no matter how many people show up and declare your property to be a 'public square'. For example, you ought to be able to decide - on a whim - that singing (while an activity still protected by the First Amendment) is forbidden on your property - even without any business relationships involved whatsoever. But, obviously, you can hope the law changes some day to see things the way you do rather than how I do. As I said, Section 230 is designed to keep free speech protected online. But, that doesn't mean anyone is entitled to use anyone else's Internet infrastructure (i.e. property) as they please.
