 I'd only start displaying the Chat bubbles beyond the first level of replies:

 Also: 
1. You cannot do 🧵 threads if you turn the reply section into a chat from level 1.  
2. You set "chronological" as the only filter option for the reply section, since it's inherent to the Chat UI.
