So did Roger Ver and Vitalik Buterin.
Roger has become so hated that he's now underrated. His meltdown was classic and embarrassing, but he sold his side of the fork so it's clear he at least stood by what he said.

Vitalik on the other hand... what a shameful legacy. He never was working to further Bitcoin as a movement. Scammer.
He wrote for Bitcoin Magazine in the early days. I first met him back then. He was pretty pro-bitcoin, and vocal about it.
Vitalik? Must've not carried through time very well. The Bitcoin culture I've observed and participated in (class of 2020) has not seemed to have been influenced by him at all.

To me, Roger and the blocksize wars were a key part of Bitcoin history, while Vitalik has always been a pre-mine, shitcoin, pseudo-intellectual grifter.
Re: Vitalik, I'm talking about 2012/2013, not 2020. 😂 Before the ETH shitshow existed.
I understand, and I appreciate the insight from that period of time. It's crazy how far he's fallen, if he did genuinely want to further Bitcoin during those years.

In general, my point was that there is a spectrum to "disgraced maximalists". Saylor has played a huge role in furthering Bitcoin and educating this generation, and at worst I could see him ending up like Roger, but probably not as bad as Vitalik.

The next bitcoin war…

When someone has thousands of podcast hours, a short clip can easily misrepresent them. But I’ve heard him say “think for yourself” over and over. His opinions are his own, and I respect him for introducing more people to this space than anyone in the last 15 years. He’s now focused on bringing big money in, and while big money trusts banks, remember to hold your own keys. Let others do what they want, but you don’t have to follow.
