I get asked SO often about my name, and the question is either utterly tedious (if it's someone I know reasonably well) or puts me on edge (if it's a random stranger, are they going to start being brexity at me?). And as my family history is a patchwork of different places, I'm curious about other people's. But like this article says, it's not a question to leap in with directly. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/sep/02/when-is-it-ok-for-white-people-to-ask-about-other-peoples-ethnicity
