100% Kannada Nameboards Sought in Dharwad District Kannada Sahitya Sammelana

The 16th edition of Dharwad District Kannada Sahitya Sammelana has passed a resolution urging the government to ensure that nameboards on commercial establishments in Dharwad District are 100% in Kannada. Jinadatt Hadagali presented three resolutions, including the introduction of Kannada as a subject in vocational courses and making primary education in government Kannada schools compulsory. The Sammelana has set a deadline of November 1 to implement the resolution. Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KSP) Mahesh Joshi stated that the parishat is committed to fighting against the closure of Kannada-medium schools in the state. State Human Rights Commission member Suresh Vantagodi mentioned that they are working towards safeguarding human rights. The Sammelana was attended by various officials including 'Sarvadhyaksha' K S Sharma and KSP district president Lingaraj Angadi.
