Things are so messed up right now, there is no way to truly fix it that doesn't hurt. All fixes will cause a crass/depression/recession as markets correct. We have two choices. We can keep doing things to prop up the markets and the money and then have a terrible crash and years/decades of pain or we can make fixes that cause short term pain, but cause improvement for the long term. I prefer the latter, but can guarantee we'll get the former because people are stupid and are unwilling or unable to look past today's comfort.
