Many points around the 3min mark speak to the fact that faith is the only thing backing money. Belief and faith by the recipient is all that gives a unit value. He references numerous times the person receiving bitcoin is the one that matters; bc of the above. If the receiver does not believe it has value or can be used in the future to transfer value then they will not accept it; it being a unit like bitcoin being used as money.
I find the Tether FUD pack on Twitter (Bitfinex’d, Crytamdamus, Boring Sleuth, etc) to be rather compelling. So that’s what holds me back from crypto… though I like the concept. Someone convince me Tether is legit, and I will get in. Otherwise I will wait until that string is pulled out. Tether gives off strong international scammer / transnational criminal vibes.

Thank you for digging this up, Jack. Clear thoughts.
where we at in the timeline? Pre-hash wars?
Very early stages of the criminalization phase.
A series of things have happened recently, from exchanges, wallets, nodes. Bitcoin's threat to the status of the dollar has prompted the U.S. government to take action. In a series of international incidents, the US government found that Bitcoin had challenged the supremacy of the US dollar, SWIFT could not track and monitor these transactions, and more and more people and countries began to use Bitcoin instead of the US dollar for storage and transactions. So far, no national currency has challenged the dollar as the world's currency, because as long as you are a sovereign currency, the U.S. government can work with its Allies in the developed world to find a way to contain the development of that country, Japan in the 1980s, and China now. But they've never had an opponent grow as fast as Bitcoin, and you can't find an entity to sanction and curb them. The original currency of the Internet, completely decentralized, is like a weed that grows when the spring breeze blows. As a result, the US government and its Allies have now imposed sanctions on all Bitcoin entities and individuals. Under the sanctions of powerful governments and their Allies, neither individuals nor businesses are powerless, and this is where # Bitcoinman is most helpless. We have Bitcoin as the strongest shield to protect our wealth, but we cannot withstand the spears of power.

Weren’t thousands of people censored under your watch at twitter on behalf of the state? Suddenly they’re an adversary? Lol ok.
Easy to criticize. Difficult to do a better job though.
I'm inviting you to watch https://invidious.fdn.fr/watch?v=aA-jiiepOrE together? Please?
I watched this video. It doesn’t address the fact that @jack silenced his users, lied about it, and rather than taking accountability, he blamed the technology. Watch his Rogan interview where Tim Pool embarrassed him and Vijaye. He knew what he was doing. He’s not benevolent or naive, he’s an authoritarian asshole.
