To some extent yes, but do you by any chance use an exchange with an on-chain withdrawal feature? What if that was made illegal?
I’m never going to say that it’s irrelevant what the government does, but rights are inherent and must be enforced by ourselves. In a situation like that, I would resort to only peer to peer trading, being paid directly in Bitcoin, or moving if necessary. The entrepreneur in me would also see it as an opportunity to make money as a market maker, and that job has become prevalent in many countries with high inflation.

I’m skeptical as most when it comes to politicians and their promises pre election. But seriously, come on guys. Orange man has just stood up and put his cock on the block and told the world what most of us on here want to hear. He won’t let anyone try and stop self custody. After the shit show of the last few weeks, this is positive for us in my eyes. Time will tell. But this is a win if you ask me..
At best it’ll buy you four years. And trump would just advance other parts of the NWO tag team agenda. Then the next installed prez would come after Bitcoin. However I think it’s extremely likely that he’ll just forget what he said or he will reluctantly” sign anti-btc legislation during his next turn to play president.

We do need politician's support. If they block all state controlled, i.e. legally operating, miners and exchanges from self-custody, we are not buying any bitcoin that is left to be mined, i.e. we have only what we already have and exchange only between ourselves. I prefer to be able to buy more bitcoin and buy services and goods from normies, no matter how stupid they are and what form of payment they accept.
