„At some point, instant & accurate notifications would be a cool feature.“ *ducks* https://i.nostr.build/GHonpjV7U0QpSSY9.jpg
fact.
We’re trying! Lol you having issues with the damus ones? I mean ya sometimes it tells you you zapped yourself lol but besides that @danieldaquino haha
def not just damus, probably the most reliable for phone. sometimes I have to click notification tab many times for anything to happen, other times it’s all blank, so close and reopen app altogether, but most frustrating, if you want to see who interacted with a certain post and click in to the post zaps or „likes“ it rarely displays them or a complete account. tbf damus also shows far fewer interactions than other clients for me on the same posts
I definitely noticed gaps in the notifications amethyst gives me vs. prime. It definitely feels like using multiple apps to get a fuller but probably not complete picture is needed. Though, the interactions I receive are fairly few at present so it's almost irrelevant.
yea, i’m in protest of the multiple app thing. everything should converge into one sexy centralized experience 😂
I can agree. I am on the mindset that monogamous relationships provide the sexiest experience... so I can be on board and in support of that train of thought and desire, although "centralized" clients seem to be the "antagonist" in the plot we are participating in... (or maybe that's just the trad social media platforms not built on top of decentralized open source protocol) 🤔
https://github.com/damus-io/damus/issues/2433 improving counter persistence is on deck for this quarter. As for comparison to an app with an indexer/aggregator like primal, primal will show you more reactions as it tracks at least an order magnitude more relays.
notifications are a whole other app do you want to know about every mention? or only replies? do you want to not hear them for the next hour, or day? do you not want to hear them from people you don't follow? do you want to have a DND status message that prevents all of your clients from notifications?
yea it would be nice to have a reliable source in app for interactions
i say it is the best way to manage notifications... one app, all it does is notify and then when you see the notifications it opens the preferred app
i guess open to trying it but i’m skeptical
well, it does require a public status event type to really work to give all the things sure it is gonna leak metadata that you don't want to be disturbed but fuck it, this is not as big a deal as the fact that normies need this feature, or so they think, but it also would be essential for mission critical comms over nostr
