And strangely enough, this got me musing about how the general public can unite to recover these artefacts from a sense of 'they belong to all of us'.
This could work for the science world, too. If said public would understand that science is usually there for all to benefit from, and that it's worth defending, things could change.
And if the scientists were able to share more with that very same publick via freely accessible portals things might finally change.
