 most engineers who work on infrastructure projects have almost no training in geology. maybe like two 100 level courses. something to consider next time you're driving across a bridge or through a tunnel built in the last 50 years

 Pretty much all infrastructure is duck tapped together. Temp employees don't build lasting things. 

I worked for the electricity infrastructure as a software engineer And was amazed at how easy it would be to take an entire region of America's power out. Even by accident. It's really fragile.
