 Its a hybrid between Hopi blue corn, and a variety which grows in cooler climates. Bred for the Pacific Northwest. You get that speckled look 🙂.  But the corn itself has significantly higher protein, and a much wider flavor. I love the stuff. 
 Interesting. Corn doesn't grow well here, too short of a season, the ground probably doesn't reach 55° until early June sometime.  
 Ill get the name of the seed catalog we used. They have some great cooler zone varieties. The key is starting them indoors, in plantable paper pots which can go right in the ground. Corn doesn’t like its roots disturbed.
