I don't generally agree with Ken Berry on this issue (due to the colon cancer, atherosclerosis, and other cancer risks of this diet) but a 90-day carnivore diet has a lot of advantages including weight loss and insulin resistance improvement, but also IBS and allergy symptom improvement since it is a kind of elimination diet. [I know that few people on nostr respect my mainstream health advice, but I'll say my piece anyways].

This is what I like about your notes Mike, your balanced approach and having an open mind, a la your note of a few days ago. Processed meats = Colon cancer, suggests so and so study. Who funded the study? Should one agree with it or not🤔. High cholesterol causing atherosclerosis, again, it probably does, but who funds the studies as to what level of cholesterol? I'm talking UK figures here but back in the day a total cholesterol level of 7mmol/l was considered high but they'd suggest you reduce it. Now that figure is 5mmol/l. Is that at the behest of the pharmaceutical funded studies in order to get you on statins? One last note. I reduced my cholesterol, in 3 months from 6.8 to 3.2mmol/l. That was by cutting out pretty much all saturated fat and eating a shit load more fibre. So who the fuck knows eh, it's horses for courses. I see nothing wrong with a carnivorous diet, though some variety is probably needed. Similarly, alcohol, I drink quite a lot and I'm not remotely arsed about admitting so. The UK guidelines are now 14 units a week, A WEEK😳😂. That is down from 28 of a number of years ago. I watched a excellent documentary on alcoholism a while ago, a leading liver consultant conceded thus, we see patents who drink 60 units a week who develop liver disease, there is also anecdotal evidence, of people who drink 200 units a week, 200, which is a phenomenal amount, and have had no adverse effects, it's largely down to genetics. Both my maternal grandparents were 82 and 83 respectively when they died. They were both heavy smokers and drinkers.
