influencers gain “customers” via ideas instead of building physical or digital products. there is a lower bar to entry here, as it takes very little work to become a thinkboi.
Another thing influencers can do is invest in companies and people who build stuff, this is a co-adaptive situation where the company gains the benefit of adoption via the influencers and the influencers get paid from the growth of said company.
I feel like this adds a lot of fakeness to certain online interactions, and I don’t want that to do things like that. I have very much enjoyed just talking with users directly, building stuff that they ask for, just being open and real. Maybe I can build a successful product this way, maybe thats too naive.
