My latest invention is Nostr Image Host, a free image hosting api that leverages nostr to store images https://stacker.news/items/380724
👀 decentralized file storage on Nostr relays Neat and made with simplicity in mind by @Super Testnet 👌🏻 nostr:note1sm234lu5qm5cf00khmcp754ajcwzsmeyf6x8cnq6c29c78y4ghash84p2q

Very cool!
It's great to see this, thanks a lot. I hope Nostr clients will adopt this soon. Next one is to supporting multiple relays? Ps. I don't fully agree on the openness of Nostr vs API limitations, as Nostr relays also can limit their access, and a service such as Imgur can also decide to be fully free/open or not. so that is not in the protocol, but up to the provider. Anyhow, I hope we can see more abundance and sharing thanks to decentralization.

fyi for relay ops: see this PR for strfry-policies that will block certain event kinds, so you can trivially block this one too (57009) https://gitlab.com/soapbox-pub/strfry-policies/-/merge_requests/11 I've also written a filter for blocking events selectively by size. Another relevant tool would be a script that sums the data usage of notes per user. I haven't released that because it's a hacky python script, but that'll be critical if people abuse this by arbitrarily using different event kinds. nostr:nevent1qqsgd4g6l72qd6vyhhmtauql227ev8pgdujyarrufsdv9zu0rj25t7cpzemhxue69uhky6t5vdhkjmn9wgh8xmmrd9skcq3qyxp7j36cfqws7yj0hkfu2mx25308u4zua6ud22zglxp98ayhh96sxpqqqqqqzhmx9wx
The discussions around relays hosting images are not done yet. Here's Nostr Image Host, which uploads images to relays in a method that is different than the unmerged/proposed NIP-95. If you a re a relay operator and do not want to host images from this new service, you'll want to filter out kind 57009. nostr:nevent1qqsgd4g6l72qd6vyhhmtauql227ev8pgdujyarrufsdv9zu0rj25t7cpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqzyqsc8628tpyp6rcjf77e83tve2j9ulj5tnht34fgfrucy5l5j7uh2qcyqqqqqqgz3rdqv
