I've built a thing: The Cashu mint Round Robin auditor An app that perpetually monitors a list of mints by randomly sending Lightning payments between them. Forever. The sats go in a circle until all is lost to fees or rugs. If a mint fails to pay an invoice, it is marked with a scary red label. You can donate Ecash from any mint to add it to the list of audited mints! https://audit.8333.space https://image.nostr.build/1681a4dce2de71daa02c14046412f05ecdabff3fbe4df2f46aa389a3424fb975.jpg

I wanna say @Coinos mint is amazing but it seems like they don't like Tor so their mint isn't reachable by this tool. Maybe something they'd reconsider?
This is awesome. Maybe an API would be helpful so wallets could ping it every now and then and warn users of scary mints?
what the heck are you doing @calle 😳 😂
Incredible - what a time to be alive to see this stuff daily in my feed. Can you point me to somewhere with lists of mints with any kind of reputation / review? Many thanks if you get to this..
Sounds like a good idea Could someone just start a mint to steal the sats? Then do it over and over again?
I have a mechanism to prevent that. Try and let me know if you manage.
do you need to fund the app so it has enough to pay routing fees or somethign?
Yes
This is very cool! I'm curious if the length of time between deposit and withdrawal can be gamed on the mint side. Are the durations random? If a mint can accurately predict which payments are part of the round robin they could feasibly protect against that while still running a ponzi on users.
The mints are chosen randomly according to some rules ;)
Nice
So cool 🤙
In the future, I will only use a mint that supports a fee free audit channel.
I don’t get it. Could someone explain what minting is and what the purpose of the thing here is?
interresting idea
Have we seen rugs yet with ecash?
Not a true rug I don't think but some mint closures
insanely brilliant... nostr:note1sl4yllteusns2m7n9e2408nqdzcx298t9xj484lr4zr769mweeksgnht94
Pls add mint.utxo.one 🫂🚀
Donate some ecash and it will be added to the list 🫡
This is interesting, and a great tool for finding reliable mints! I would hesitate to call it an auditor, though, since it isn't really confirming that the mint has enough sats to back all the tokens it has issued. It's only really confirming that the mint is online and honoring Lightning invoices, right? It's more like nostr.watch, but for eCash mints, if I understand it correctly.

sound awesome! keep up the good work 💪
This is amazing
How do I create a mint?
Awesome idea! Could you implement a voluntary feature within mints that collects a small fee that is then perpetually aggregated to keep this going without interventions/donations?
You definitely built a thing very interesting 💜🫂🫡
Great app 🎯. How can I get my mint (https://mint.mountainlake.io) back into green territory? It had an issue with an expired c-lightning-REST certificate and was down for a bit.
Sorry... but what's Cashu? A lightning app as you send lightning?
This is a cool and useful app. It would be great if mint operators could get more details about why their mint is flagged red. I now manually tried a few swaps to other mints on the list, which all worked flawlessly. Still, https://mint.mountainlake.io is listed as red. I am not complaining, but if I run a mint, I might as well do it properly. nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzq5xeflpdskqvdq4swxj59793uvdzqzc9pzatjk3nhmcg2h0js8trqqsg06j0l4u7gfc9dlfju42hnesx3vr9zn4jnf2n6l363pldzahvumgylqt5q
