#Nostr is the superior protocol. It is. Why is [barely] anyone using it? List why you think 👇 and if you think this is a long or short term problem.
A family relative of mine, when asked about it, immediately thought “you mean that bitcoin app?” Short term problem. Though I don’t see that as a problem as it brings awareness toward bitcoin, but it does kind of take away Nostr’s standalone value as a censorship-resistant, decentralized protocol. In short, they don’t quite understand the technology behind it and generalize it as a bitcoin application
The answers I get when I invite people are 1) their network isn't here, 2) they don't understand Bitcoin. I think this is short term, and the best think I can think of to fix it is to build bridges to other services like X or Blue sky, much like was done with the Fediverse and Mastodon.
