 Aside Meta controversies (I also didn't like Meta too), but I need to appreciate Meta move to implement ActivityPub to make Threads federated and interoperable with platform we use.

You can block the domain individually if you didn't wanna to federate your post to Meta service.

 Back in 2022 when Mastodon started to get more users due to Elon took over Twitter,

Flickr & Tumblr expressed if they wanna to implement ActivityPub on their service in future, guess where they're now?

Cloudflare developing Wilderbeest to make hosting a Mastodon instance more easier over Cloudflare servers, later they abandon it.

Mozilla hosted a Mastodon instance, later they also leave.

Unexpectedly, one of the worst big corpos somewhat having a serious progress to connect with us 😅

 Wilderbeest was not really welcomed to the community. Lot of them just blocks Wilderbeest instance, hence why it went abandoned.
