Overall it's safe and stable.
There is always the threat of China, our resources, low population and political opposition to them make us a target. But that shows itself as cyber attacks and trade wars.
Politically we are very stable, we don't have any real threat of riots or unrest at all, a few lefty protests and tiny, but loud, groups of neo-nazis.
Economically we are on a bad place, inflation is still high, 33% of Australians are skipping meals, 25% of South Australians, where I live, have reported their household has run out of food and they don't have the money to buy more.
Crime and homelessness is certainly up, stabbings, home invasions, arson, car jacking, which we don't see a lot of usually are increasing.
Low population my ass, this much is already a strain. 🤣
You only need more if you play stupid games & want to fight head to head when you don't need to...
Low in comparison to other nations around us and the size of the country. 26 million is a lot, but as part of the 8 billion on earth, a small part.
And if we had as many in this mostly dry arid dustbowl we'd be screwed.
Totally correct, we don't have the water for a big population.
And we're busy paving over the bits that aren't...
And just wait until the gravy train dries up & everyone all of a sudden remembers they aren't one group...
But hey, screw history & human nature right...
