I think their point is basically that since he is the Son of God he transcends his ethnic and cultural heritage. Everyone who believes in Him joins the *new covenant of God but those who don't remain with the old. In this case they remain Jewish or gentile. While those who believe partake of the Eternal. it's pedantic in the end.
