Don’t let lazy media convince you Milei is “Argentina’s Trump.” He’s a hardcore libertarian and Austrian economist. Does that mean he’s a savior that will fix all that ails Argentina? Of course not. But at least understand what’s going on. Real analysis here: https://youtu.be/o_tEpEqiRzY?si=6s-zKYOhsbeFzMxX
Both hair style are wild. 😜
Oh, you're on the Nostr? Nice. Reason is doing a decent coverage of Milei's rise. I loved the video with Gloria Álvarez. It's good that you give voice to people who believe freedom is not fractional: it applies to economic policy, but also to social policy.

In the Spanish-speaking world there's a really dangerous movement from very extreme and very real ultra right wing elements to coopt the label, rhetoric and international clout that "libertarianism" and more diffusely "anti-globalism" and "anti-socialism" gives them.

They're basically a mixture of supporters of the various military regimes that most if not all Spanish-speaking countries, Spain first and foremost, have endured, with ultra-fundamentalist Catholic elements, and ultranationalists (especially in Spain), and only superficially adherents to some pro-market policies -- which must always be subordinated to "national interest", of course as defined by them. In other words, good old fascism.
Libertarians who don’t understand that if there is a state, it should consistently prosecute murder inside and out of the womb, are confusing to me.
Anything not part of the liberal orthodoxy is either "right-wing" or Trump-like or some combination of both.
