If you talking about an L2 way of storage, that’s fine. Keeping life savings in a node isn’t.
In your writing you don’t mention this; anybody new to the network will think that a node is a good way to keep it on chain. Hot wallets are good and convenient, but again not secure; even if you have everything under passwords it has more attack vectors making it less secure.
As you mentioned: cold wallet (no internet) > node (to help the network grow), and you can attach a phone wallet to it using Zeus or have a separate hot wallet in your phone.
