 The benefit of crashing your system and having to reinstall everything is that you have to reinstall everything. 
 Every 6 months when I was a kid. I constantly broke shit. 
 Every other week I nuked windows XP because I messed around with it too much trying to speed it up.. 
 This install had been running since 2020, so it had 10+ distro upgrades. Bit annoying to redo everything, but it was getting unstable anyways. And it's also nice to have a clean slate, with a bigger SSD. 
 Nothing beats that fresh system feeling. You get to implement all the things you need right from the beginning, filesystem, swap partition,... No more lingering leftovers frok apps you have uninstalled long ago... 
 I think this is what nixos is for 
 Might give it a try. Gnome or Plasma for UI? 
 NixOS still on my to do list. I tend to focus more on cli/server infra too. Gnome seems nice though?

Nix can be added on to other dostros 
 distros*

I can really see the appeal of having a single script which sets up your entire environment.
