The benefit of crashing your system and having to reinstall everything is that you have to reinstall everything.

Every other week I nuked windows XP because I messed around with it too much trying to speed it up..
This install had been running since 2020, so it had 10+ distro upgrades. Bit annoying to redo everything, but it was getting unstable anyways. And it's also nice to have a clean slate, with a bigger SSD.
I think this is what nixos is for
Might give it a try. Gnome or Plasma for UI?
NixOS still on my to do list. I tend to focus more on cli/server infra too. Gnome seems nice though? Nix can be added on to other dostros
