 Passports introduced at mass scale during the WW1 to prevent free movement of the people during war time. Their use supposed to be discontinued after war ends.

They're still in use, so technically we're still in WW1

 Intriguing story that I am unaware of. 

I wonder what it would take to officially end it since all of the original parties do not exist in their original form?
