What's a better Nostr experience: Android or iPhone? #AskNostr
I think Android. But I only have iPhone. I can’t zap anyone using Damus. 😓 I need to do it through Iris.
What!!!! Lets fix that
Use this script to enable zaps in damus testflight nostr:note1gjd2str0tfqvrcwdttskxkd52vmsagc477gsr858k0ug86nuj60qzn6uas
Damus testflight link, if you don’t have it yet https://testflight.apple.com/join/CLwjLxWl
Setup an #Alby wallet and check out instructions here : #zapplepay https://www.zapplepay.com/
You can always zap profiles even without the TestFlight version.
But I can’t zap posts 🫠😢
You can set up @zapplepay! @Derek Ross has a guide here: nostr:note1f72205grals33mhtt2f7e545fdlk64y3kejp0hpjaxkhldphvnsqfntg9h
Thanks for the info!
Good luck setting it up. You’ll just need to have a @Alby wallet and create a connection string at https://nwc.getalby.com Then choose the emoji (you can set up more than one!) to #zap with on https://www.zapplepay.com
Alby does good work, I'm doing most of my "work" on various Linux distros and especially android nowadays though, but solid for users for sure.
Hoping they release a killer native app soon. Lightning wallets keep improving and they have so many great extra features. It would be amazing if the Alby app could hold nostr keys for other clients to allow NIP-07 logins on iOS.
Watching the evolution of ⚡ wallets in 2023 honestly blew my mind. That production quality node, which started me down all this, is still on my project list 😆 Then cashapp came along and made it *even better* the other day.
I use both, but I must say #Amethyst is the real deal, #Damus is great, smooth and simple yet there’s room for improvement.
Asking a “iPhone vs. Android” question on Sunday morning like… 🤣 https://media.tenor.com/e_IjltCHdC8AAAAC/lol-explosion.gif
Lol I'm looking to upgrade my 4 year old cell. Just making sure I don't miss anything.
🤣 Cool cool. The purists will surely say differently, but to me unless you’re looking to run Graphene, then I think it depends more on which ecosystem you’re more invested in, and if there’s a particular Nostr client you really want to use. With a couple quick tweaks to apps, Nostr is fully useable on iOS. Android lets you sideload apps outside their App Store if needed and gives you more control over your default apps. A lot of it from there is personal taste and whether you’ve invested into other apps and services on one platform over another.
In the summer i sold my amazing iPhone after 15 years of iPhone only, and, i have to say, i'm falling in love with Pixel and grapheneos just like i fell in love with iPhone in 2008
but if i had to reccomend my family something. I would say iPhone. Actually that is what i did, and they all have iPhones.
I use both and I like them equally. Amethyst dominates Android and it's fast, plenty of features (I don't often use). It just works. Damus on iPhone is also just as brilliant. Restricted but smooth and clean. It also just got better this last update.
