Most people I talk to don't even know what self custody means. It's such a foreign concept. It doesn't even register in their brains because every where they keep their money requires trust from a third party to not steal it from them or rehypothecate it.
Wonder if it's a terminology thing? If it was simplified to Be Your Own Bank meaning you actually hold the Bitcoin maybe something along those lines would resonate better? Get the BTC marketers on it.
