Nostr “education” materials can refer to blue sky as having a “master relay” vs nostr’s distributed relays having “no master”. 

Yea. Relay is a poor name … but the networks are easier to compare for the fact of shared (crappy) terminology.

Bluesky and “mastodon” (activitypub) are nostr’s competition for the “decentralized” space. Nostr wins, but language has to prove it.
