I kinda agree but I'd wonder how the unemployed person is surviving now, how the business is doing, how much the employer is bringing home and how good of a deal the potential bartender would feel that job is. Like with the value for value model, I think everybody (including patrons) would feel better about paying more if they trusted that the value was being distributed "fairly". The millionaire and billionaire both probably worked hard, but one also got very lucky.
 @b42b2f3c @1831505a Life is not fair and forcing someone at gun point to pay another person is a great example of that. You promote fairness by unfair regulation and you don't see your hypocrisy. You are the meme.
 @b42b2f3c So the justification for price controls is "feels good"?

I can't speak for everyone, but I like paying value for value for an outstanding product or service. Making everything default expensive is not helping anybody.

I think humans have empathy built in and it's why v4v "feels good". humans want life to feel more fair, when it obv isn't. I'd love to have zero govt, but the outcome of that would feel less fair to everyone. more theft, violence etc. discussing what govt should do and how far it should go to create a good society (and lots of that is about fairness) is the appropriate place for politics imo. most might be ok with taxing billionaires to treat childhood cancer.

 Correct. It's no longer about left or right, it's about those who want to control others and those who want to be left alone.
 @Tadgan Hrothgar @1831505a @c215902f

incorrect. it's built on the idea there are more good people who don't want to control others but also lots of bad people who do. and somehow in a democracy, the smaller amount are winning?

the reality is we're all mostly good but sometimes bad. what differs is our perspectives because of life experience. we all care about others but want to limit others' ability to intentionally or accidentally "hurt" us. wealth just provides more power.
 @b42b2f3c @Tadgan Hrothgar @1831505a
You want to limit others like me. I want people like you to leave me the fuck alone. I don't believe in your empathy. I don't trust people preaching compassion by using force.

 @c215902f @Tadgan Hrothgar @1831505a

but you do believe in empathy. you don't think anybody should be able to steal or kill anybody else? why care about anybody but yourself?
 @b42b2f3c @Tadgan Hrothgar @1831505a
If I see a person being hurt by another I am willing to take action to prevent it. You on the other hand need someone else to do your dirty laundry. This is where we differ. You believe that most people mean well? Then let them live and let go of your fears.
 @c215902f @Tadgan Hrothgar @1831505a

so shouldn't you be out killing pedos etc or is that something the government should do and you'll just cry about forever that they aren't doing enough to stop? you don't have principles, you have memes and lines you heard others say and never thought through yourself or heard anybody actually challenge.
 @b42b2f3c @Tadgan Hrothgar @1831505a Community historically would stone people that committed atrocities. I don't have principles? All you have is emotions, mostly fears. You're a little dweeb.
