I'm trying to be optimistic and find the benefits here, but having a hard time. - It's #custodial. - No #privacy guarantees. - Discouraging #P2P transactions, and using corporations instead. It seems exactly the same as fiat, except you're giving them your #Bitcoin without even enabling a decentralized circular economy... I agree with your point about #cashu. But the nice thing with bitcoin is that you can use it the way you want and that #bitcoin is for enemies.
I agree, it is permissionless after all. However, what's effectively happening here is, we're giving our sats to the enemy so they can make payments on our behalf, if they so please. Meanwhile, we could technically make the payment ourselves.
