Imagine you're following a friend of yours and you zap his pubkey all the time, and you even write notes saying that he is amazing person and you agree with him in everything -- then suddenly his key is compromised and his metadata is edited to depict a strong Nazism supporter, now you're looking like a nazist yourself. Does that mean we should have never had the concept of replaceable events and all relays should be storing all metadata events from everybody forever?
Here is how I'd respond: 1. I saw he took a turn and unfollowed/ corrected/ disagreed with him {here} 2. Pound sand
It means we may need to have a permanent “compromised” addition to any account, a sort of tamper tape on pubkey where it signifies it’s public domain
You may have a point technically, perhaps a different scenario can highlight your point better. We are not responsible if someone we know gets hacked or change their views. Those are not our opinions. The media will happily portray someone as a bad person via guilt-by-association, but that is true regardless.
Se happens with people's static pictures right now. Servers can just swap them to say the opposite at any time.
I still think about changing a bitcoin badge I made with a dick pick...
Imagine you're paying a friend of yours using is x-pubkey all the time -- then suddenly his key is compromised by a nazi and now you're looking like a nazist yourself. Does that mean we should have never had the concept of an immutable ledger that should be storing every transaction from everybody forever?
Yes.
imagine thinking nazi is a bad thing
you fucking piece of shit
Imagine you have a friend and hang out with him all ghe time, and everyone knows you're friends because you're always doing cool stuff together -- then suddenly his brain is compromised (by propaganda or something) and he becomes a strong Nazism supporter going so far as to claim that he secretly supported it all along!, now you're looking like a nazist yourself. Does that mean we should have never had the concept of love and friendship and all people should be forever alone?
Imagine making up some damn nonsense about you. Who do you think is more stupid: those who making up or those who believe
Without key rotation won't all accounts be compromised in the end?
