Maybe its to control their own population? 🧐 

 I don't think they have a problem with that.  

 Are they in any significant way? 

 They pledged net zero emissions by 2050. Also if the science about it was fake they would have the most incentive to call it out.  

 Is that by purchasing carbon offsets? 

 No. Their plans do look a bit sketchy though. Planting trees and unproven carbon capture tech seems to be a big part of the plan, and there are no plans to scale back fossil fuels. Even if they aren't that committed I still think if the science was wrong they would be fighting against it rather than playing along.

 You don't have to believe it to give along with it 

 Why would they? The world transitioning away from fossil fuels hurts them badly. They would be fighting it if it were provably false.  

 Accepting the premise that they don't believe in it but are going along with it. The Petro-dollar is dead, it's probably the least worst option to transition away from it. The result of a lot of decisions made long ago  

 Not a hoax. The increased temperatures are real and well documented. The result of those temperature increases may be debated, but that's for scientists to debate using science and logic.... not up to personal opinion of those that are ignorant. There was a time when the ignorant knew they were ignorant and stayed quiet on topics they knew nothing about.   Now everyone is an expert... 🤣 🤣  

 Whether the science is a hoax or not is a separate problem to that of the solution being being a hoax.

You can also look at China, Russia, Iran, etc who also think it's real but have entirely different solutions.

Perhaps if western governments didn't turn into full blown sinister and murderous totalitarian regimes over a flu we could entertain their even more sinister and murderous solutions to climate change. 

 we have a local fuel company here in NY. Mirabito Fuel Group.  guy who started it back in the day picked up coal  along the railroad tracks and sold it. They built the company into a conglomeration. heating fuel,  gas & diesel gas/convenient stores all over Central ny. I know some of the family. they're not all in on global warming,  but they just started putting in electric car charging stations at their stores. they realize that diversity & flexibility in these msrkets is the way. oil use isn't going away, but solar is getting cheaper.
