nope, don't wear one, literally only smacked my head one time on a bicycle and i hit the wrong brake and ended up needing a stitch because i landed head first in a nice plush lawn with one little rock right where my head struck the ground i feel like i'm in serious danger if i'm at a velocity that exceeds my ability to break the fall... i had a fall a couple months ago on a steep concrete pavement and i did a pretty good roll as i hit the ground but it was bumpy concrete and i still have a bit of a ding in my knee... but my head didn't touch the ground IMO, if you need a helmet you might be going too fast, and ok, sure, if you like going fast and don't mind breaking bones and shit sure, wear a helmet, but if you use it as transport and not an extreme sport then it's just stupid, probably also urban design plays a role here because some places just don't give any space for either bicycles or even pedestrians... sometimes it's kinda understandable, like here on the steep slopes of #madeira, very light traffic overall and very few people braving the slopes on a regular basis

London cab be pretty bad for cyclists, even at normal commuter speed. The driving is insane, the car doors flinging open, people leaving parking without checking etc etc. kinda necessary here even as a leisurely pace / commuter cyclist

yeah, same reasons also... because of how it was designed long ago without bicycles in mind... probably not as bad along side routes but if you gotta go through the center or cross the river probably a huge pain anyhow, that hectic meat grinding energy of cities is one of the main things that i don't miss... so quiet out here, and even sometimes i wish i was even further away from people

this dear friend i know is anti helmet maxi. at this place is most probable to get rekt by getting hit by another vehicle than by falls, that was the main motto. little would the helmet do if getting rolled over 😓

i think i looked up stats once. most of the accidents which are with vehicles are too bad for helmet to matter. I want to say helmet may help with 20% of all bike accidents. electric bikes, however, are a different story... they require a level of safety and caution above traditional bikes. please use helmet

yeah, they never have good enough brakes, and the motors are always under powered, and they really need to have both regen and disc in all cases on both wheels, should be minimum 500W, and the brakes should have 1/4" thick discs and hydraulic mechanical actuators
