On my way out of El Salvador I went through security, didn;t have to take my shoes off. Great, or so I thought, then I bought a $6 bottle of water. Around the corner was ANOTHER SCANNER LINE, I had to chug the water as I couldn't take it through. It's clown world everywhere, even in bitcoin country.
What did you think of the Bitcoin motherland? I've been wanting to make a trip myself.
In terms of the conference and being surrounded by some of the most inspirational people I've ever met, that was incredible. Paying with bitcoin around the country was amazing. That said, the Country is in rough shape, it really has a long way to go but everyone I met is very hopefully, even if they don't have a chubby for Bukele. Many are rightfully skeptical of him, but hope abounds and there's so much work to do. FWIW, if I were a mechanic, I'd go open a shop there, those guys are PRINTING money.

I despise the TSA with every fiber of my being. I bought this awesome show polish in Vegas and those petty tyrants confiscated it. 🤬 Not to mention the countless searches for water bottles and loose change. Asshats.

The sad thing is that the most constructive post 9/11 change they made, is just to reinforce the cockpit doors and change some of the procedures for when a pilot comes out to use the restroom (a flight attendant will typically block the way as he does that, sometimes with a cart, to make it hard for people to run up at that moment.) That small set of changes was cheap and safe with basically no downsides. Everything else is an expensive mess.
Dont forget air traffic control can override hijackers now since everything is computerised. ATC can land the plane back to the airport if hijackers took control.
