Scientists have made a groundbreaking discovery about our brain's waste-clearing system, known as the glymphatic system. For the first time, researchers have imaged the functioning system in living humans, using MRI scans and dye injections during brain tumor surgery. The study found that cerebrospinal fluid flows into the brain through distinct channels, clearing toxins and waste products. This breakthrough could lead to new treatments for Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive disorders.
