The whole thing is already split in topic based communities so further splitting is confusing but we also have to consider the social aspect. Different instances build very different groups of people and we also need some way to split those. I for example replaced the Lemmy.world technology community with the Beehaw one because I hate the neo liberal "technology will save us" garbage rather than the content in that community.
