 Its our law.
Its in the framework of our country’s constitution to prevent states like California that have the densest populations from getting all the attention from candidates. Ignoring the states like Wyoming that are the least populous.

You CANNOT have them both.
It is a more fair system and forces a candidate to appeal to the country as a whole.

 The Electoral College.
 Word
It has nothing to do with making candidates not ignore certain States. (Doesn't work anyway, no one campaigns in Wyoming) It was to convince the states to join up and that they wouldn't get pushed out completely by the larger states.

The system was designed to appease and hold together a coalition of states with no never mind given to the people who live in them. The system literally is not made for us.

That’s what I said…
 My bad dog
I would entertain a popular vote option. Would be easier to make counting votes uniform and probably less fraudulent.
Everyone gets an on chain vote that is auditable.
