I like the way you can tell which keyboard Android users are using by which typos they make
You can?? 👀👀
If someone is mistyping l as k, they're likely using Unexpected Keyboard. Just saw someone now, not going to name and same of course...
Never even heard of that
I use it to get around Amethyst/GrapheneOS bugs, and I started noticing I make different typos, then I started noticing others. Adds noise to the stylometry data if you mix it up, doesn't have to be a bad thing!
You're not adding noise. It's like adding noise to a random number by "randomly" changing digits. You're reducing randomness. You're adding to your fingerprint.
Tacit knowledge
Oh? Do tell...🤣🤣🤣 I make so many typos even typing this takes foooorrrrreeevvveeerrr!!! Lol 😅
I've been thinking on this recently. I don't know if you remember when mobile keyboards worked properly. They didn't recommend words when you typed correct words, they didn't correct your words to silly words nobody uses like Tue. It seems everything that was build between 2010 and 2016 is crumbling under it's own complexity or being sabotaged to drive us nuts. An important UX element for typing on a phone is underlining not just typos but autocorrected words and phrases. Maybe a different color. Yellow perhaps. It doesn't matter the color or method but this is something we need.
Oh, forgot my main point, typos release metadata about the user and can be used for fingerprinting people.
