At the time, WikiLeaks had its funds seized, which led to a discussion on the Bitcointalk forum about how to inform WikiLeaks about Bitcoin. Satoshi responded to this situation by asking that Bitcoin not be used for this purpose, as it could attract too much attention and harm the project in its infancy.
