 uff. I have mixed feelings
ā–² ā–¼
On one hand, respect nostr:nprofile1qqsw3znfr6vdnxrujezjrhlkqqjlvpcqx79ys7gcph9mkjjsy7zsgygpr9mhxue69uhhqatjv9mxjerp9ehx7um5wghxcctwvsq3samnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwdehhxarjd93kztnrdaksz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ekk7um5wgh8qatz7tvu4p a lot for technicals and business savvy.

On the other hand, does Coinkite rely so heavily on blockclock revenue that it warrants legal action against OSS devs?

Just seems unwarranted and over the top.

they rely too much on their big margins

I've always pondered what it would take to reproduce a similar board/chip combo. BitAxe opened this pondering for me
ā–² ā–¼
Iā€™m most likely going to be offering a SE chip for hardware wallets with specific features that allows building DIY designs on top of it and offers higher security than some of the common choices.

So, that could become easier too.

do you think you actually respect nvk, or do you respect technical proficiency and business savvy in general, and like to give people the benefit of the doubt because you are a good man aware of his own failings?
ā–² ā–¼
I respect various approaches he's taken to engaging with the community, namely Bitcoin.Review.
I've said it before, he's my favorite infllooensor. Because I recognize the game that he's playing and he plays it well.

So I guess the latter.

PS This reminds me I need to print some secp256k1 curve t-shirts.

I kind of hate drawing lines like this, but honestly, at this point in the game, if you have any integrity at all and actually give a shit about freedom and open source technology, you will never support NVK or coinkite again.

yeaa...... and this is why you should try to fund devs p2p not via opensats. centralized funding always gets gamified by the loudest brashest guy in the room
ā–² ā–¼
that's something we learned quite early on with the bitcoin foundation šŸ™‚ šŸ˜±

the problem is that most people don't really have the time, nor required knowledge to really know what devs are working on things they want, and thus who specifically they want to fund, so they prefer to pay some org

i guess as long as there are multiple orgs and not one monopolist there's at least some choice
