Why not let muting make the seed?
I like having a master Coldcard generate all my hot wallet seeds. Way less to keep track of. If I delete the app, just go to my Coldcard and ask what the seed got account #x was. If I break my Coldcard, my Coldcard seed still has everything I need.

Hey what’s your advice re: passphrase? Some people argue it’s just a brittle 2 of 2 with single point of failure. But others say it’s always a good idea. Just got a Coldcard and I’m having trouble deciding what to do and how to best use it. Any help is greatly appreciated @Coinkite (old npup)

A couple apps like GetAlby and Current let you import BIP39 seed phrases as a nostr key.(NIP07). I'm not sure about Damus.

This BIP 85 thing is amazing. I did know it existed. Thank you. So I can create many online wallets from my master seed? And it's safe? And the only thing I need to recover is the index number? Amazing. If there any downside or risk? Is it really safe to recover an online a wallet from 12 words bip39 created as a child index 0 from my precious cold offline secret seed?

💯 if a hot wallet gets compromised this way, there is no way for someone to work backwards to get your master
