RSS works just as well as gold works.
Captured.
RSS is great for content distribution; but we are social animals and consuming content is just one piece, we also want to talk about the thing; hence comments and content composability not being possible through RSS implies that the social aspect of content consumption is captured by larger entities.
Again, like gold.
reeeeeally good point.. i didn’t really think of it as being “captured” but i guess in a way it is.
and the point beyond that is what really lands. We want to be able to interact with the content more being pure consumption. Talk about it, and engage with it beyond that.
RSS is extensible. You could easily add an npub and other new metadata to the feed. No need to use Websockets to fetch podcast episodes, but a client that supports nostr can then also add the social aspect to it.
