It will make you long for the simple beauty of agrarian Appalachia. It shows how hard it is to raise kids, lose loved ones, work hard and live a good life. 

One of my favorite fiction books ever.

 I haven’t read a fiction book this year.  I need to change that.
The best nonfiction book I read this year was SoftWar, by Jason Lowery.  Mind blowing!

 Non-fiction: Good things happen slowly by Fred Hersch, an autobiography by an amazing pianist where he talks about his upbringing, musical life, sexuality, love and sickness.
