Oh, jeez, please don't judge by the first one! The beats are fine, but it was assembled ALL bass-ackward. I has NO chord structure to work with, so I just made stuff up, and my metronome was an inth of a second off CSB's beat, and you could hear the rhythm deteriorate as it progressed. I've never done remote collaboration like this before, and there's a learning curve. I SWEAR it will be better next time!
@027ae4d1 @efa2e20e 🤣 no worries! I don’t judge.. it’s cool to see folks working on making music and collaborating! The digital age has made it much more accessible! I recorded that record with a RadioShack microphone with the xlr cut off and twisted to a 1/4” jack through a guitar pedal to a guitar cable cut off and twisted to an 1/8” jack directly into a sound card 20 years ago 🤣

THAT'S AWESOME!!!
@027ae4d1 @f43a2aa2 @efa2e20e all of that is awesome, y'all! I love music, and while some of this is more my style than some of the rest, I'm still impressed. The long distance collaboration effort, the earnestness of "Thelma Sue"... just all really cool, nice work and thanks for sharing!
@027ae4d1 @efa2e20e @8c94a1b0 thanks! First time I’ve heard Thelma Sue referred to as earnest 🤣 that whole project was an exercise in silliness, except for the “on my way” track that inspired it all, but I feel it! 🤣 Thanks again for listening and commenting!
@f43a2aa2 @027ae4d1 @efa2e20e well I just thought Thelma Sue stood out to me, that whole recording seemed earnest, gritty, raw; it felt like my overalls were dirty and I still had to mow the back 40. Last (and only) time I was in a studio was the '00s and so much has changed, so "raw" just sounds so good to me. And I was just impressed with the talent here on NAS, and loved the idea of the modern "Postal Service" collab w/CSB and VOX. Just all good vibes.
@8c94a1b0 @027ae4d1 @efa2e20e I really appreciate that! You get it, brother! Definitely no grid, punch ins or second takes there! 🤣
I’m also anticipating the next CSB VOX collaboration!
